What is ThreeDee PRO?
We want all our customers to be perfectly satisfied with the way our 3D Audio work sounds, specifically on Apple Music. We want you to be able to check your content, give feedback, offer suggestions, ask for revisions, and to give approval prior to release.
For ordinary Stereo productions, this process would be easy. Youd receive a customary Stereo file (from WAV to MP3) that you could check out on your playback system of choice - from a studio environment to headphones.
For 3D material to be released on Apple Music, this is not possible yet. Apple Music spatial content is encoded as a specific Dolby Atmos file (ADM WAV) that cannot be played on consumer systems. This requires specific Dolby software or hardware powering an array of speakers - or a set of headphones.
Most listeners of Apples spatial content use headphones. Apple Music enables 3D headphone playback through their own proprietary binauralizer software which is not yet available for use outside the Apple Music platform. This limitation makes it impossible for artists to check the spatial Apple Music sound of their songs before their release - something musicians and producers want to know, to make sure their tracks sound the way they want to.
The ThreeDee PRO app is our solution to this problem. It plays back your 3D material as it will sound when released as spatial content on Apple Music. All you need is your mobile Apple device and a set of headphones that is compatible with Apples "spatial" setting. If a Stereo mix is available, you can switch between 3D and Stereo in the apps player and compare them directly.
Using ThreeDee PRO is very simple. Once the production you booked with ThreeDee Music is ready to be shared for your feedback, you will get access to the material via a download link provided to you. Clicking the link on your supported iPhone or iPad will automatically open ThreeDee PRO, download your material, and present it to you in a playlist within the app. Once you hit play, you can switch between 3D and Stereo in realtime. Finally, after auditioning you can delete your material again with a simple swipe.
